Good friends who rescue you when you don't even realize you need rescuing.
Marginally gross but encouraging emails from across the country.
Surprise visits from chronically workaholic high school friends.
Cats that harass each other and then look incredulously at us for laughing at them.
Husbands who curl up on the couch to watch the Kurt Cobain episode of Biography with you.
This song:
Goodnight, everybody.
Thanks lady.
ReplyDeleteWishing we had more cable channels! The bio was good, even if depressing?
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't great. It was pretty clear they didn't have the approval of anyone who was particularly close to him, so they kept interviewing super young music journalists and using the same handful of photos over and over again. Still, I watched it.
ReplyDeleteTears are sliding down my nose. Too graphic? YOU are on my list of GOOD things EVERY day.
ReplyDeleteReally, really liked the performers and the song. Spent time digging and googling for more information and/or tunes. As you probably already know...there isn't anything else! And Penny and the Quarters are, indeed, good things.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've seen, the song was recorded as a demo during some studio downtime in the 70s, and the band faded into obscurity. The song wasn't discovered until decades later. It's featured in a scene in Blue Valentine, which is where I heard it.
