We added some tomatoes, including the last stragglers from this year's pitiful backyard crop.
And the end result looked like this:
Actually, the end result looked like this. Before you ask where my wedding ring is, it's on the counter because I didn't want to get it all garlicky.
Halloween has descended upon Fort Awesome, and Bobby spent some time hanging our Halloween lights out front.
Normally we put skulls on the porch posts, but we decided to postpone it temporarily and left them on the couch. Then this happened:
As you can see, Bobby and I are eating well and the cats are resting comfortably among the skulls. I'll be spending the rest of the evening cleaning my house, as this is set to be a busy week for me. When is it not a busy week for me?
You mess with the kitty, you get the skulls!
ReplyDeletePesto looks yum. Are those green tomatoes? I think we're going to have a ton. The plants are still blooming.
Also, if you please, I would like to hear what you think of Boardwalk Empire thus far. Sopranos meets Carnivale minus the supernatural?
ReplyDeleteThey are green tomatoes, or green tomato. It was a cold summer and we only grew one.
ReplyDeleteI believe I sent you an email a while back about BE, because that's exactly what I think of it. I like it so far, but it's gotten into that middle character development phase where things get a little dull. I'll keep watching though, despite it being hella violent and gross at times.
My daughter is a chef!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am chortling loudly while reading the post. Very impressed with the pesto making and Halloween decorating. Even old people watch BE, despite the ever-present violence. Costumes are great, sneers are snappy, and some characters are eye-pleasing. What a combination! I admit to hiding my face often, however.
ReplyDeleteHope you can still broil red velvet cake....
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'd agree about eye-pleasing characters on Boardwalk Empire. Michael Pitt might be if he'd go easy on the Dapper Dan.
