The temperature has been hovering around 83 degrees in Portland all week, which is lovely. We went out to dinner at the Farm on Thursday as a belated anniversary/ yay new job celebration. Awesome food as always. Went out to Dig a Pony with Jonathan, Breylan, and Breylan's roommate Candice last night. Conor joined us at the tail end, when we were wrapping up dinner at Nicholas. I ordered WAY too much food, but I got my trademark bucket of tabouli. Plus lentil soup. Plus a giant falafel wrap. Fact: I love all these things. The people at the table next to us turned out to be longtime friends of the owner's family, and told us all about the early days of the restaurant. They also gave us a tabouli recipe, which sounded way too complicated. I'll stick to getting it from the experts, thanks.
We're going to the cinema with the usual crew this afternoon, and hosting True Blood night tomorrow. Next weekend, we are East Coast bound for a certain best friend's birthday. I haven't seen Weatherly and Brandon since June 2009, and that is a crying shame. Look out delis, I am coming to eat all your black and whites. Look out Uniqlo, I'm coming to buy all your pants. Look out New Jersey, I'm coming to drink all your wine.
For history purposes, here is a super old photo from the last time Bobby and I were there together, which was April 2007. If I'm long overdue for a visit, he's incurring fines:
Also for good measure, this is one of my favorite photos ever taken of me. My dad snapped this as I was getting off the train at Grand Central Station from my Aunt Carol's house in 2009:
For now, though I've got leftover falafel to attend to.
Two of my favorite photos also. A most satisfying week combining a new and already liked job with scrumptious food and interesting new friends. Love the Stew Leonard's bag. Happy memories.
ReplyDeleteWin/win/win/win! I will hurt JetBlue if they so much as think about messing with your flight.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, W. We're getting to ya if we have to arrive via carrier pigeon :)
ReplyDeleteI'll make you some quinoa tabouleh! One of my vegan recipes, and high in protein because of the quinoa. Or maybe I should just send you the recipe. It's pretty simple.
