Oddly enough, the cats positioned themselves. We weren't planning to include them, as herding cats is like, well, herding cats. However, being my cats, they enjoy being photographed, so there they sat. Bobby was originally supposed to be reading the newspaper, but I forgot to pick one up. I scoured my bookshelf for vintage novels, and remembered I had an O. Henry book from 1909 that I'd bought at a yard sale years ago. Out of time, I ran to Safeway to buy a box of holiday cookies before Becka arrived. There was a minor cookie explosion that resulted in me getting crumbs in my hair, but I got them all out before crafting the fabulous beehive-like style shown in the photo.
This photo is not our final pick. We did a round of "formal" shots featuring entirely different outfits, and the winner ended up coming from that set. Those are on order and will soon be winging their way across the country enclosed in festive greeting cards if my ambitions are successful. For now, though, enjoy some fine holiday fun from Ward, June, Leaky, and Georgia.
You, my dear girl, and your adorable husband, are priceless. O. Henry would be proud to be included in this exceptional photo.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot! But shouldn't Bobby have been wearing a truly tacky Christmas sweater? ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo cool that the cats decided to get in on the act.
That dress looks lovely on you, (just don't take a deep breath right!!) Glad it worked out. Can't wait to see the final shots.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I didn't breathe at all during this shoot. Final shots coming soon.
