This week has been 100 years long

Sorry for the lapse in posts, y'all. I've been too busy for my own good.

Here is what I've been up to:

Tuesday
Happy hour drinks at Slabtown with a fellow music addict to discuss the show I'll be attending later in the week. We nerd out about this and that before Bobby joins us. A bit later, Bobby an I are off to the Ringers' for gluten free pizzas made on the grill. We round everybody into the basement to watch The Crow, which is as good as I remember it. I am tempted to yell out the lines I remember, but refrain. Why do movie lines and song lyrics stick in my head, but I can't remember if I already told you this story two hours ago?

Wednesday
My parents call from New York. "Does Bobby need a True Blood hat?" "No, Bobby needs a wife who's not addicted to vampire telly."

Pub Quiz at Sellwood Public House. We are joined by the usual crew: Pat, Morgan, and Brandon, plus Don and Jeremi. We split into two teams, and ours leads the night. Questions like "name the character played by Chris Noth on Sex and the City" are too easy for me. I can provide nickname as well as first, last, and middle. The final question had to do with Monty Python, though, and we lost on a technicality.

Thursday
Happy hour at Low Brow. Haven't been there in a while. They have a new waitress. I sip water and nab a couple of tater tots from my companions. Rush home to eat dinner, but traffic causes my five mile journey to last more than an hour. I get home, toss a veggie burger in the toaster oven, and watch half of some asinine made for tv movie starring Amber Tamblyn. Head back downtown to see Tanya Morgan at Someday Lounge. Yes, that's the name of a rap group. They're great. More on them later. Get home and pass out.

Friday
On the bus headed back downtown. Going out to a charming suburban establishment called the Bounty Hunter tonight with Zoe. Should be fun. Attending a wedding tomorrow and having the usual Sunday crew over for True Blood and Mad Men the next day.

Next week is the beginning of September, when our house will be filled with a rotating cast of overnight guests. First Alex on her way to California, then Jeremy will stay for about a week, then Erica and PJ all the way from Sweden by way of Vancouver BC. We are a hotel, and my dance card is full through November 1st, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
